I have been photographing probably as long as I have been blacksmithing. . The process of creating a good photo can be as helpful as the photograph  itself.  Photography forces me to slow down -  to really look and see the intricacies in the everyday world around us. 

Many of the forms and patterns that I discover find their way into my metalwork. Many are found within walking distance of my home. I have also had the privilege to travel and study blacksmithing and the cultures that shape the art throughout the world.

Though different plants, this emerging hosta in my garden inspired the Calla Lily Candleholders.
